Does anybody use the (windows server) Administration pack on their windows XP machine ?
i'm referring to this :

so as to administer users/groups/local policies etc etc ?

cause everytime i click on let's say "Active director users and computers"

i get the error below :

this is so confusing... but when i install the pack on my laptop it works
not to mention it stopped working after my pc got infected...
a re-install does not work.. any clues CF ?

I wonder if you could post the Malware Anty Bytes log you got when it finished scanning?

I can hardly believe every virus remnant will disappear by just running one scan.
Probably a file is corrupted, since it's Administrative tools, that's either damaged by a Trojan Backdoor or a Smitfraud infection.

well Game to be honest, i uninstalled MAM and deleted the log
anything else i can do ?
My pc is running ok no crashes or whatsoever but i smell something fishy with it.. i still think something is up

hook up another pc to the same network wire and install the administrative tools there.

the pack connects to the server and feeds the info on your pc. it works on other pcs. I said it in my first post

but when i install the pack on my laptop it works

the problem here is my pc... just don't know what is freaking wrong with it

in that case, don't you have a company image or something? ris server? reinstalling should be a piece of cake. the networks i've build (real-life and simulated) always had some sort of simple way to install new pc's/laptops without any interaction.

you're not getting it.
The problem is with my computer, has nothing to do with the server. I just want help to fix my pc, i cannot afford to format. maybe a log will help

nevermind i solved it by repairing windows
