Are all pure copper RAM heatsinks the same???

I went around the web and saw that some Copper heat sink for RAM say they remove from 30% and other say 50% and anything thing in between for other ones. Whats the truth? (I only mean the ones that cover the whole RAM in one piece, not the 8 piece ones where you put it on individual memory modules) If there all 100% copper shouldn't they all do the same???

I believe that if they have the same shape, are mounted the same way,and are made from the same material(copper in your example),their performance will be the same. But always you can search for some benchmarks on ram heatsinks,to be 100% sure.

well why are you wanting to buy ram heatsinks? Most high-performance RAM that needs cooling already has heatsinks. Anyways, RAM usually get unstable before it overheats so I wouldn't worry about cooling it unless it is high-performance RAM that didn't come with a heatsink.

I'm pretty sure the re-sale value would be about the same for any ram-sinks, as they are not that expensive.

Well, to say "with copper heatsinks!!! Not like those cruddy aluminum ones the other guys sell. Coppers gets rid of heat faster and leaves aluminum in the dust!" ya know, something like that. Makes it sound better than the rest!

actually, aluminum get rid of the heat faster.

copper pulls the heat off the source quicker than aluminum. but aluminum can get rid of that heat quicker than the copper.
