The link to a athlon 64 3500+ so am gussing that what you ment.

You should be able to get a 6600GT for a lot better price(I assumeing the price is in USA since you did not note otherwise)

example:http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-130-220&depa=1

edit: never mind last statement I notice the AU extenstion on some of the weblinks so am gussing the money is not in USA.

If I want to share a broadband cableconnection and LAN between 2 computers what do i need to buy?

Router

Wireless adapter or cat cable

at my house, the modem is hooked directly into the router, then I am attached by a cat6 cable. The internet hooked up automatically, then I ran the network wizaard, and everything works fine and dandy

no its australian dollars
Next time let's be specific.

i made my system with basically the same stuff except a lil more items andd it was 1700 bucks o y and it had a 6800gt
But the price jump from 3500 to 3800 is more than the jump from 6600GT to 6800GT

True .. the potential for confusion is there cuz the 3400 comes as both a Socket939 and a Socket754 (bad AMD! :p)

ANd maybe you can get better prices in us than in australia, I dunno?
I would imagine so, many people i know out in AUS tend to have higher prices than US/Can
