ok im getting cod 4 for xmas and wondered if this specs will be ok, im not bothered if have to lower the quality abit, ok i got

windows XP
128mb radeon x300
512mb ram
pentium 4 3.0ghz

i have played all the other call of dutys game with no problems, aswell as HL2 and other games.

Call of Duty 4 would run, but barely. 512MB of RAM is extremely low, and the x300 isn't a gaming card.

“Required (min) Specs”
# CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 2.4 GHz or AMD(R) Athlon(TM)
# 64 2800+ processor or any 1.8Ghz Dual Core Processor or better supported
# RAM: 512MB RAM (768MB for Windows Vista)
# Harddrive: 8GB of free hard drive space
# Video card (generic): NVIDIA(R) Geforce(TM) 6600 or better or ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9800Pro or better

BTW, the 9800PRO is better then your x300.

that rig is going to have trouble running COD4 and i suggest if your not planning on upgrading your pc then dont bother buying COD4 :(

you need at least another 512Mb of ram,Better GFX card.

your processor should be okay though :)

Before you do anything.

Go to

System Requirements Lab

That will scan your hardware and tell you what does not meet the mark for the certain Game you specify.

It is an excellent website.

Click Can You Run It and then specify the game you wish to try when it comes up :D

Give it a go :D

i checked and i just need a higher end graphics card and ill get more ram, could anyone give me any reccommendations on a graphics card?

depends on your budget mate. an nvidia 8800gt is what you want to get if you got a lot of cash to spare. if not, i recommend the ati x1950xt or 7950gt.

Yeah i would go with a 7950GT..a member here called Kornowki is selling one if your intrested.

jnskyliner34,you recomended a 8800GT...dont you think his cpu will be a bottleneck?

ive been looking at the 7950 gt and noticed that theres a BFG GeForce 7950 GT OC 256MB but says its built for windows vista so will it not work on XP? and i saw for slighlty more the EVGA e-GeForce 7950 GT 512MB Graphics Card says its built for windows XP will my specs be good enough for it? i will be buying more ram with it aswell
