Are there any figher plane games worth purchasing ?

I remember a game when I was younger - Mach III. Flying around shooting planes out of the air - in dog fights. Surfing around - it seems like flight games aren't produced much anymore? With the exception of flight simulators.

Tom Clancy has his new flight game - any others worth looking at?

Well its a helicopter sim not airplane but DCS Blackshark is really good but has the highest learning curve I have ever seen in a sim.I am still trying to figure it out

Yeh HAWX I guess. Flight sim X is supposed to be really good but I don't know, plus I am pretty sure it isn't a dog-fighting game.
Blazing angels is pretty good.
There are a couple, you will just have to look them up I guess.

Back in the 90's I had this really nice navy combat simulator. I wish I remembered what it was called.

I have blazing angels, look and stuff to choose from is good, though missions get kinda boring

You know what's surprising though about HAWX. It doesn't look that bad of a game but if you go to look at the ratings of it on IGN, it only has a 6.5 rating. :(

FSX is just a flight sim. I wish they would bring another cfs out, combat flight simulator was awesome(and yes i still play it even though the graphics arent very good...) Another one supposedly good is Battle of Britain II: Wings of Victory...

You won't expect it but Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas could POSSIBLY be worthwhile to try if you just want a little bit of fighter plane action.

What you have to do is get the Hydra (Jet Plane) and then the highest wanted level you can get. Go fly round in the skies for a while and wait for police planes/helicopters to come after you. Nice dog fight which could go on. Only a little bit though but I find it fun, plus you can do so much more than just flying!
Haha but thats my opinion. :)

I tried the demo of HAWX.....game looks quite good but i found it hard to control the plane, you will definatly need a Joystick.

I suggest trying out the demo :)

I found it quite easy without a joystick, you just have to put the controls on expert, it is actually easier to fly around with.
But hey, thats just me.

What do you mean it's not worth while? I play SA:MP 8-10 hours a day

HAWX is fun, but its too arcadey imo. Then again i prefer games with WW2 planes/combat....

Btw to the OP, fighter has a T in it:P

I didn't say the game was not worth it, because it definetly is! I meant buying GTA: SA just for the planes wouldn't be worth it.

But if you do get it you'll have so much more to do aswell. Think of it as a driving/flying/running game :D
