Are there any good "underground" games that are free?

I was just wondering because I am going to be getting a butt load of games here in the next week and I know that the free ones dont get as promoted as the rest so you could say "underground" games. If you have or know of any please feel free to post.

I've heard that Americas Army is a very good free game, but i've only played it once or twice, so i cant say much about it.

It takes a while to download and a while to get through the training, but once you actually get to play it is rather fun. Just no teamkilling, I think they are trying to emphasize real Army values.

If you like the Matrix concept, download Gunz Online. Basically your some bloke with guns that can run up walls and hack at people with your sword. Only problem with it is that they have nothing to prevent laggers entering games. Also Rakion might be worth a look also a very nice game.

These are some good games. I do also play AA (americas army) but I have known about that for a couple of years so I really didnt think about it. I am not looking for an mmorpg, all though thanks for the post.

Yeah, it's actually made by the U.S. Army. They hired some program developers, and put them in actual army situations (like a mock convoy ambush). Then the developers turned that scenerio into a game. The Army uses is as a recruiting tool, and it's supposed to be the most-realistic army/combat/war game there is.

So next time you don't understand a question does that make you an idiot too? or are you so superior that you fully understand everything?

Only in America, play video games then die for real, wow.

Its like Quake 3 only you dont re-spawn, oh and the AK's are real.

I thought America sold its soul a good while ago when they did business with Hitler but damn this is close, they market everything, even...life.

Well, with a war like the one in Iraq going on right now, the Army needs recruits because our soldiers are dying faster than joining. So, they go to subliminal measure, to get people thinking, "Hey, this is pretty fun/cool, maybe I'll join the army!" One person on this forum has already said that the game is pretty fun....
