Are There Any Other Unlocked Pentiums Aside From G3258?

For the games I play I feel like it would be a lot of wasted cash to move up to a good i5.
The last "upgrade" I did was from an athlon ii x2 to a phenom ii x3 and I have yet to notice a game where the change makes any real difference.
This is probably because I'm just not playing the "right" games. I don't play mmos, nor fps shooters like battlefield. Most of my time is spent playing older titles.
Some of the more recent games I played (dishonored, deus ex human rev, thief, mirror's edge) haven't required much of a cpu.
I mainly just want to max out Skyrim with quite a few graphics mods.
I know for a fact the pentium will provide far better single core performance than what I have now, especially when overclocked. Even a game using three cores properly would probably run fast on the pentium than it would on the phenom triple core I have at this time.
Some games I do find are cpu limited when I want to run at 60 fps but they are only maxing out 2 cores (recent assassin's creed games for example).

You're doing yourself a disservice if you buy a dual core in 2015. Quad cores are pretty much a requirement anymore. Skyrim is reliant on your CPU, although it's old enough by now it doesn't matter as much and you could get away with a dual core. If you're using many mods though you'll probably want a quad.

There is no overclockable Pentium that I can find outside of the G3258.

An i3 would be a dual core with HT, and might be a good balance of price and performance as it will still have 4 threads.

I see no option for an unlocked i3. I just don't understand how an i3 that costs nearly twice as much as the g3258 and doesn't overclock well could be a better value than the g3258. I fully intend to overclock the g3258. Could you be more specific about which skyrim mods take advantage of more than 2 cores, I didn't realize someone had written a mod to utilize more cores than the game is capable of?

I knew it was a mistake to try to explain why I don't want to toss shit tons of money at this hobby on a public forum, never fails that someone would try to tell me I have more money than I do about 5 minutes later :p So to clarify, THE FUNDS SIMPLY DO NOT EXIST!. Besides that the cpu socket can be fitted with a suitable i5 in the future when they are cheaper and more suitable for my purposes.
I appreciate you chiming in on the availability of other chips with unlocked multipliers though, much appreciated :)

The only other real option would be to simply buy an am3+ board for now, drop in my current phenom and unlock the 4th core (for what little extra that will provide over 3 cores if it even unlocks stable).

I tested a few of my games with unsurprising results. Dishonored, Deus Ex Human Revolution and Assassin's creed brotherhood all lost about 5-10 fps out of 40-60 fps when the third core was disabled on my current chip. I'll test Arkham Origins, Black Flag, and Nuthief next.

Just read about certain games refusing to work with the dual cores. I guess that is truly the writing on the wall for me. I would like to play Syndicate, Mankind Divided, Dishonored 2 and Mirror's Edge 2 when they come out, and it's not worth the risk of something flat out refusing to work. I'll keep the phenom for now and upgrade to an 6350 or better down the road. Thank you for casting some doubt on this Darren, I may not have put more thought into this if you hadn't shot it down :)

Nothing about anything wrong with multipliers, it just doesn't have anything to do with overclocking.

Nothing considering the fact that the resultant frequency is a factor of both multiplier and bus speed..
