Are you gonna get the 7970?

I was just wondering how many of you out there are planing purchasing the new AMD Radeon 7970? Its supposed to be the new 580 killer. Any thoughts?
 
most can't afford it for 550 or so, but also would be smart to wait and see how the gtx600's perform before spending that much
 
I'm switching back to nVidia with my next card. I've been disappointed with my last two ATi cards.

Yeah I've constantly had driver crashes. Started with my 4870, then even with my 6870 I've had driver crashes. I think they may have been due to an unstable CPU OC, but I'm still not 100% sure.
 
My issues involve telling the installer to put the drivers into C:\ but since I edited the registry to make the default install location to F:\ (my HDD) it installs in both and the one on C:\ doesn't work to well and is missing the "Gaming" tab entirely. So I have to manually launch the other exe from where it was not supposed to install. I like their cards but holy jumping balls they have some dodgy coding.
 
I don't know about you, but the driver crashes I have had on a integrated HD4250 is on stock settings (afterburner and precision wont OC it for whatever reason). It may just be a unstable driver.
 
Doubt il be going 7 series,Most likely just pick me up another 6950 2gb and go Crossfire as the 6950 prices have halved second hand these days.

PhysX is the other bug reason for me going back to nVidia. I had a 9600GSO before I got my 4870 and NEVER had an issue with it.

Same here. I have not experienced a lot of trouble in windows but I have the worst time getting anything Linux running. I just hope the newer nVidia series comes out with more memory.
 
Never really used ATI, always been an NVIDIA boy myself, but I would until the new NVIDIA GPUs come out and then see how the 7970 goes against the equalivient GTX 6xx card.
