I would greatly appreciate any advise that people can give me.

Helping a friend put a PC together & basically it wont start. Initially PC was assembled but when powered up there is no signal going to monitor & there is no beep when is initially turned on. MOBO is getting pwr as the case fan & CPU fan work. When PC was complete I could hear the HDD & DVD-ROM working. I have been troubleshooting & have resorted to removing the MOBO & pwr supply out of the tower. The only things on the MOBO is the CPU standard intel heat sink, ATX 12v connector, ATX PWR connector & the system panel header connectors. Even like this, with no RAM there is no beeping. Have rotated the speaker plug around & no joy. Tempted to try an old case speaker but I'm not convinced this will make a difference

CPU & heatsink have been removed & reconnected.

Specs:
- Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6300 - ''Conroe'' Dual Core Processor + Standard Intel heatsink
- Asrock ConRoe945PL-GLAN Motherboard - i945PL, 800MHz FSB
- Cooler Master™ Centurion 534 Rev 2 Black 430W

I was having a look at Asrocks website & came across compatible CPU's & much to my horror it doesnt list this CPU as compatible. http://www.asrock.com/support/CPU_S...onRoe945PL-GLAN I'm hoping this is because they havent updated their site recently. I purchased this MOBO with the recommendation of the retailer who was fully aware of the type of CPU I had purchased elsewhere.

Would really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions

Take it back and get a different one. Preferably a better named brand, like MSI or ASUS

*This motherboard supports FSB800-CPU. If you plan to adopt Core™ 2 Duo CPU on this motherboard, you can only adopt Conroe 800 E4XXX processors
