Arranging iTunes

i just downloaded iTunes and i'm wondering if I can arrange the tracks by Artist instead of just the big mess they put it in with all the artists together. I have over 28 hours of music on the computer so I need to have a neat way to organize it.

I switched from Musicmatch Jukebox, and would like it as similar to that as possible if you have any suggestions.

Do you mean sorting by artist? Click the artist tab until you get it how you like it.
Here is the artists tab

The result of clicking it is all your songs sorted by artist

Is this what you wanted?

Dell Jukebox has tabs with artists names on them, and when you open the tab you see all of that artist's songs, that's what I want this to look like.

Click Browse in the upper right hand corner of the window when you are in the library and then some options apear at the top allowing you to sort by Genre Artist or Album.

Sorry I cant post a pic right now. I'll put one up later if you need it.

Alternately you could make a smart playlist for each of you artists but if you have 28 hours of music that could require a decent amount of work and you would endup with almost the same result as just clicking browse.

Hope that helped. Is that what you wanted? (Sorry i've never used Dell Jukebox) Tell me how it worked.

yes. You can do it on itunes. Just hit file> Newlist> name your list> then add the songs in you want in there. It took to me an hour to figure that out without the manuel.

Well you could also go file> new smart playlist, Then set up rules (like artist, or album, or a combonation) Then all songs by that artist (or whatever your rule(s) was) would automaticly go to that playlist. If you have live enabling enabled, then when you import songs, they would also automaticly be in that playlist if they fit the criteria.

switch back to iTunes, Musicmatch is CRAP, just press the + at bottom left to create an album folder and put the songs you want there...

Just making a playlist is easy enough; Ctrl+N. As a matter of fact thats what I did, well not every artist just some.
