ART v dalvik

Has anyone else tried ART, i decided to try the new ART runtime on my moto G and it did seem faster for the little use i got.

However hugely problematic, it screwed up my icons and many areas would not even open just black screen.

Is switching from dalvik to ART something that is best done straight after a clean install ?
 
Best stay with Dalvik for right now. ART isn't fully supported by all apps. While it is faster, it is currently not the standard.
 
Most apps do support ART, however there are a few that don't, named Xposed if you are rooted. I've tried it before, but I've always ran into issues so I stick with Dalvik. When 5.0 comes out, it's ART only so hopefully most apps will be updated by then.
 
Yes I also tried it and reverted back because of all the problems, although for the brief try i had of it, it was noticeably faster.

My uncle is running it and seems happy, but then he uses very few apps.
