Art work and heat.

I was thinking about putting some art on my case (Cooler Master HAF 932)
I thought about Airbrush, but I don't know anyone who can do that here in my country.

So my question is:
Will it have much affect on the heat inside the case if i use printed artwork (art printed on adhesive plastic) on put it on? Not over the fan, of course, but on the metal surfaces.

it shouldnt really. My case doesnt get hot.

the only place where it does, is behind, where hte CPU is...

Rather, airbrush, or annodize the case.

Printed art might get bubbles because of the heat (if there is...)

I was more wandering if it would insulate the box too much and make it too hot inside. But you've got a point.

I would say your fine long as your case has good air flow and by good I mean at least 1 fan blowing in and 1 blowing out. I never used stickers though mind you...I prefer leaving my case at stock :P

This is obviously a different application but I race quads and the graphics on my bike are subjected to pretty high temps in some spots and the only place I ever get bubbles or delamination is on the fuel tank but that is not from heat. To answer the insulation question, your case doesnt really act as a "radiator" on it normal surfaces so I say go for it. Like you already said, as long as you dont cover a vent you should be fine. Post pics when your done. I'll bet $20.00 that if you saw an increase in temps you wouldnt be able to prove it due to other variables such as ambient temps and humidity and others.

Thanks for a great replay Cams
The case is in the mail so I'm only designing it in Photoshop as is is. But when I'm done, I'll definitively post some pics.

Yes I am. I mean it looks good. But if you had the time, resources and... more time.
Wouldn't you want to make your computer as much of you as you could?
Don't worry. It will look better afterwards.

I will.
The only problem is... The company I'm buying from is always telling me "Next week" (when I ask them when it should arrive) but the new estimate is around Tuesday.
Since I'm new on this forum, How should I send pics in?

upload them on tiny pic and then it will give you a link to put on forums that will look like

and it will show up as a picture

Thanks, I'll do that as soon as I start my work on the case.
Which (if all works as planned) should be on Wednesday/Thursday. But like with all other things I imagine big always seem to take forever to get started. I have lot's of time since my semester just ended, but the people with the printers don't seem to have the same time. But like I said, by all hopes, the end of next week it should have been gotten well on it's way.

I finally have some samples. The items came today! Really exited.
These are all just photoshopped pictures with the general idea. I still haven't refined them or finalized. I still haven't chosen the graphic, but it will look simular to what you are seeing. Some laser type thing. But here they are:

This first one is of the left side(left from if you look straight at it):

This one is of the front. The flame... keep it or not?:

And here's the right side. The cooling fins are semi visual. Just made them transparent to 20%:

Tell me what you think. Like I said, this is not completed and still huge room for changes. If you have any ideas you can tell me and if they're good, I might use them! And tell me if I should keep the flame on the front or not. Hope you'll enjoy this.

Zanii, I think that looks stunning minus the flame on the front. Thats gotta go. It would be easy to send that to a graphics company with some dimensions and have them run it off. Air brushing, if done by the right person would look sweet. However it would cost alot more coin for somebody that talente to make it look right. Got any pics of other ideas?

I forgot to mention that the flame would be flamed colored... The colors got mixed up somehow and I forgot to fix it.
But if you think they would still lok bad with the right color, then they'r out. Since that seems to be the general thinking.
Unfortunately I can't have it airbrushed since there's no pro here in Iceland... :s But I'll be using plastic films and putting it on.

build

No flames, they dont mix in with the rest of the case unless its all flames.

I think that will look amazing, I'd love to do something like that. I would make the plug-in panel black.

lose the flames. it just doesn't go with the rest of the design. i think if you extended the side design just onto the top plug-in panel it will look really cool.

If you can design some blue flames that'd look great, the pink/red doesnt go with the blue so much.

My old case is covered in stickers, if the case ever gets hot enough that it bubbles, you've got a fire :P
