Artic Freezer Pro 7 or Zalman CNPS9500?

well i kno reli kno anything about the artic cooling freeze, so i guess someone can come in a fill in on that. but yea, for me i'd personally go with the zalman all copper cooler. but are u thinking of doing any overclocking or serious overclocking, if so then go with the zalman.

if its just for normal use, the artic shouldnt be bad at all. and yes there is quite a price difference, but if u have some extra cash, go for the zalman. IMO lol
 
I have the zalman... my temps with a 400MHz OC are down in the twenties and load temps are about 33, 34. Thats TEN degrees C lower, and thats with the thermal stuff supplied with the cooler. I love it.
 
Well I can't overclock my current cpu, so it's not really for overclocking. It idles at 48 degrees celcius with the fan set at 60% and gets in the low to mid 50's easily when gaming.
 
I wouldn't say that the Freezer 7 is 'as good' as the Zalman, but for the money it's great value. Given what you want it for, i'd go with the Freezer 7 Pro.

As for your temps, they don't seem that bad, although it's hard to say for sure without knowing what CPU you have.
 
Ordered the AC Freezer 7 and Zalman 6 fan controller! I have 6 80mm fans, and a new Aspire Discovery Case. 2 80mm fans in the front, a 120mm exhaust fan in the rear, and an 80mm side fan. I'll also put a 80mm fan behind my video card to push air through my X1800xt. How should I remove the current thermal paste from my cpu?

I have a Pentium 4 515 2.93GHz. 533 MHZ fsb. It came with the computer 2 years ago when I got the computer. The computer is a stock Compaq that I got for around $400. Since then I've replaced everything except the motherboard and processor.
 
My artic freezer is a major pain. It has a 4 pin conector and I need a 3 pin. It is very sharp. It is hard to intsall and is huge. :) other than that it owns:)
