ASF help and DVD burning help

Can anyone recommend a program for converting an asf file to something else?

It doesn't matter what software/program I use to try and burn a DVD but a BOX POPS UP PLEASE INSERT DISC, EVEN THOUGH i ALREADY HAVE. aNY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHY THIS IS?

Fx MPEG Writer has some other information on how troublesome converting asf files can be at http://fxmpegwriter.com/converting_asf_files.htm They recommend first converting the format to Windows WMV format with the Windows Media Encoder found at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/encoder/default.mspx
