Asking for an assessment on my choice of PC components

I'd like somebody (especially somebody who has had experience with the components mentioned below) to give me an assessment of the components I'm going to add to my PC. Optionally, I'd like it if you recommended me a better price for those components.

My socket-775 motherboard died, and thus I found a reason to upgrade my motherboard (meaning, to buy one with another socket).

My motherboard of choice is a GIGABYTE H81M-DS2 (socket 1150).

Since my old CPU and RAM are not fit for that motherboard, I will do the following upgrades too:

CPU
From: Intel Core2 Duo E8500 3.16 GHz
To: Intel Pentium G3260 3.30 GHz (I can't figure out if it has a fan or not, so please help me with this)

RAM
From: 2x2 GB 1333 MHz DDR2 (I can't access it so I don't know the manufacturer)
To: Corsair CMV4GX3M1A1600C11 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3

All of this will cost 130 euros (144 dollars) in total. Aside from the assessment, can I find those items somewhere for a better price?

At this point since you have to totally change socket, why don't you get the lastest socket which is 1151? What do you use your system for?

If I can get the same or better performance on the same price, I'd not object. I really don't want to raise the price above the aforementioned (130 euros).

I use the system mainly for browsing the internet (note: I open a lot of tabs) and gaming.

So you're saying 1150 is getting obsolete? How much time will it take to go obsolete?

Your recommendation is good, but not good enough for my pocket. I'm already pushing it with the 130 euro payment. Do you have another recommendation, at the price of 130 or less?

Not a choice since I don't want to change my retailer, and there's no AMD Socket 1150 CPU at this price in there.

I'm afraid there's no real choice in future upgradeability with socket-775 MBs, and what's more, my pre-existing components have been there for a long time and I think it's reasonable to expect them to fail relatively soon. So I chose a socket 1150 with new components to avoid long-term trouble.

I have a 650W PSU and a 1 GB GPU (NVidia GeForce 9800 GT).

I also buy only from the retailer mentioned before.

LGA1151 is the latest, why you are getting last gen for the same money?

get those component Johnb35 recommended.

You can consider AMD FM2+ socket as your video card is too old.

I decided to give a shot for this setting, but the RAM is not listed under the "Memory support list" for the motherboard you recommended. http://download.gigabyte.ru/memory/mb_memory_ga-h110m-a.pdf

At the bottom of the page, however, it says : "Memory modules listed as above is for reference only. Due to massive memory models in market, we can only verify some of them."

So, what do I do? Go for it?

It's all compatible.

John chose a Skylake (LGA1151) CPU along with 8GB of DDR4 2133. Processor supports that.

The Motherboard is a (LGA1151) Skylake socket-type as well. It runs DDR4 2133, the "slowest" speed for DDR4.

You're good to go! John's been in the industry for a while and knows a thing or two ;)
