ASRock 760GM-GS3 HT Default not 2000 MHz

I just built this new computer in my signature and all went very well. I have an issue I'm curious about. With everything on Default, HT is at 1600 using Z-CPU to monitor things. I have to change the multiplier to 9x to get 1800, but I do not see how to get it to 2000 MHz. Does anyone have any idea why 10x is not available?
 
The Athlon II X2 270 is 2000 HT. Even though the board claims a HT of 2600 HT, pretty sure it has a 2000 HT limit. A low end board, do you have the latest bios on it. You got the bus overclocked?
 
Thanks Stranglehold, I figured it out. The Northbridge needs to be set to 10x before 10x shows up for HT Link in the bios. Now I have the Northbridge and HT Link set to 2000. I have the memory running at 1600 and I thought I read somewhere that this stresses the memory controller on this CPU, that it should be set to 1333. Is this true with this processor? The MB has a setting to run the memory at 1600 so that's what I did. Everything is set to stock due to heat issues I talk about below.

I have been overclocking a long time, but I'm new to the AM3 setup. This is a spare machine and therefore I went cheap, but I have to say it seems like a pretty good MB for the price ($44). The only thing about this MB is the chipset is getting too hot for my liking and I have not even begun to overclock it. Have a 140 mm fan on order to blow onto the MB to try and solve this issue before attempting to overclock it and running Prime95 for hours on end.

I think the default for a Athlon II with DDR3 is 1333. I use to run 1600 with all of the Phenom/Athlon II with out have to bump up the controller voltage.
 
Ran MemTest86+ overnight with it on 1600 without an error. Was just wondering, good to hear you did not have to bump the controller voltage. On this MB is the controller voltage the Northbridge voltage?
 
Depends on how its listed in the bios. You have the motherboard N/B and the CPU N/B. You would need to look for the CPU N/B.
 
There are only three voltage adjustments on this MB: CPU, Video and Memory.

I have been testing and have this setup up to 3.9GHz (244 x 16) stable. CPU voltage is set on 1.45 volts in the bios but both CPU-Z and SpeedFan report it as 1.424 volts. HT/NB are on x8 (244 x 8 = 1952) for both. Memory is at 813 DDR3 1626. Prime95 tested for 12 hours without errors. I would like to hit 4GHz, but it looks like it might take a lot of CPU voltage to do so. I might need better cooling to do that, we will see.
