ASRock 939DUAL-VSTA Socket 939..............

I'm not sure AGP is the way to go...it's pretty much obsolete as it is. If you're going to upgrade, I'd make it count.
 
The Asrock Vsta is a decent enough board if you're planning on upgrading slowly. It has limitations in that there are only 2 slots for ddr and 2 for DDR2 but it shouldnt be an issue.

Its a good board in general, dont expect to be doing any mad overclocking with it but if its an upgrade due to cost issues then its decent enough. Reviews have shown that it actually performs pretty damn well.

Have to admit I have been tempted by it myself but not quite interested in upgrading myself yet :)
 
I have the same motherboard, but the LGA775 version (both Dual-VSTA's), and they are great motherboards for their price and what they offer, but dont expect great overclocking form them or to outperform their nForce competitors.
 
How would you run a Dual Core AMD on this? It says:

Supports CPU upgrade from AMD Socket 939 CPU to Socket AM2 CPU through AM2CPU Board?

It's a 939 motherboard, but it has a special slot on it which allows you to purchase an addon card from ASRock, that has an AM2 socket and memory slots, and it allows you to use an AM2 CPU with that motherboard.

actually it would appear this version will only support DDR 400 in all 4 slots, must have been a slight variation i was reading up on that had 2 ddr and 2 ddr2
