Hey, can you guys tell me if asrock motherboards any good? I was looking into this one for my first build asrock z68 extreme3 gen3 lga 1155 intel z68, i dont need anything powerful, and this fits my budget.

ASrock seems to be pretty good. They are a child company of Asus, but seem to have way better support than asus currently.

As for the z68, that's a good chipset, the best for 1155 Intel out there.

Nope, they are owned by Pegatron corporation. Which is owned by Asus, but that's where the similarities end.

And they 990FX Fatal1ty is hands down the best 990FX board. Better than the Crosshair V. Look at the slot layout for one, the 12+2 phase design compared to the Crosshair's 8+2 and many other things.

The Asrock 990FX Fatal1ty is a nice board, but not the best hands down. In benchmarks it ties the Gigabyte 990FX UD5 which is the same price. As far as the 10+2 vs. 8+2, really makes no difference. On a AMD anything over 8+2 is just a selling point.

As far as I've seen, Asrock is generally a good brand. I don't think they're quite as good as Asus or Gigabyte, but they're miles better than Jetway, ECS, Giada, or any of that garbage. They're definitely not a bad brand.

I had an old 775 board that had some problems with build quality and some other things, but the new boards have gotten a lot better.
