Assistance with build

I'm not really sure about the motherboard tbh

But I wouldn't use the Windows 7 Beta as your primary OS, as its stability and compatibility is still questionable.
 
Thats almost the exact system I have been thinking about building, except for the video card, I want the 4870.

I have been considering using windows 7 beta as well. Everything I have read about it says it is very stable and almost ready for delivery.

But I am going to wait until the public beta comes out before going with it.


One other note, wheres the hard drives?

Since you decided on the antec 900 case you also might consider going with a modular PSU instead. It really helps with cable management.

What does modular mean?
I still have not chosen the HDD yet. dont know if im going to do 2 500gb or 1 tb.

How does that mobo do with overclocking? although i have never overclocked before i would like to later when i learn more about it.

i7s are new so I'm not sure about the overclocking with the new boards, you could check http://tomshardware.com or another tech site.

The HDD is more a personal choice in my opinion.
 
Modular means that you can disconnect cables you do not need from the power supply it's self, that way you do not have extra cables cluttering up your case. And in the antec 900 that is important since the case is a bit on the small side.

Cable clutter can cause poor air circulation, meaning higher temps inside the case. For a fast running o/c system, air flow is very important, so the less clutter the better.

Ok guess ill go with the "Modular" one then.
 
Is the RAM ok or should i go with a corsair brand or something?

Is the GPU ok or should i go with this maybe?

Lastly should i go with 1 large HDD or 2 or 3 smaller ones?

I plan on using windows 7 beta as my main OS. So im thinking i should get different drives. Cause if i keep it till August (Which i might because i dont want to buy vista), I dont know what will happen. They said it will stop working on August 1, 2009. So does that mean my system would shut down and all i have installed and done on the computer will be erased or what?
