Hi All!
Just created a new computer.. everything seems to be working and nothing has caught on fire (yet), however I'm unable to install Windows due to my CD drive. The CD drive is not recognised in the BIOS nor will the CD drive even open. A green light stays permanently lit.. but the drive will not open or do anything. If I detach the IDE cable and just use the power cable, the drive will open with no problems.
I presume the drive should be the 'Master IDE Drive' and use the Secondary IDE port on the motherboard, as I have a SATA h/d. I have tried all combinations of slave/master/cable select.. but alas nothing.. even tried a BIOS update. The CD drive is a Sony DW-G120A. The motherboard is an ASUS A8N-E. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
