Asus A8n Sli-deluxe power problems

For several months now, I have a small issue which I assume is related to the motherboard since during that time period, I have change cases, and PSU's but still encounter the problem.

At random times, when I startup the computer the case lights and fan come on like its working as normal, than suddenly goes off. At other time this never happens, and it starts up fine. This issue also occurs when I push the reset button on the case.

Only things I could think of was something was shorting the board, but since I have changed cases, I'm not too sure. Also, maybe the case connections to the board? But I double check them earlier.

Thanks

Sounds like a problem dad had with his previous mobo. It worked fine for about 2 years, then just totally died.

I'd still check for shorts or maybe try another PSU, but my guess is it's just a faulty mobo.

You may need a bios update or simply have a weak battery on the board. A $3 item can cause headaches at times if there is no defects with the board itself. Going for the latest bios update may also help if that simply needs to be reflashed by the update process.

A goofed up bios programming can cause some problems far easier. A weak battery starts showing itself when cmos information wains on you. When a battery goes nothing will start. These are a pair of things to look at as well.
