ASUS A8N-SLI or ASUS A8N-SLI Premium?

Hi, I am going to be putting together a new PC soon and am planning on purchasing a ASUS A8N-SLI Socket 939. I have been wondering if it is worth the extra $50.00 to step up to the premium edition. Can anyone give me any opinions? Also, do I need to add a sound card for better sound and board performance? Thanks.
 
I'm running the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium board and have never had any problems. As for the sound , I'm using the on board sound with a good set of speakers and it sounds great to me. Although I do not play alot of games, I've also read the reviews on this board and they said it was to have more features and improvements over the previous board. You can Google it to read the reviews.
 
What specs are you looking at? Video card, CPU, RAM, etc.

Everyone might get tired of me saying this, but I'll say it again! If it is possible, try and wait for AM2! That way you have newer technology, instead of older. It should debut in late March. Hell dude I've been waiting about 4 years to get my upgrade so you can wait at least another month :D

The Premium version features passive cooling on the northbridge, so it's quieter and less likely to fail (there have been issues with the northbridge coolers on the A8N-SLI and A8N-SLI Deluxe failing). The SLI setting is BIOS controller rather than using a PCB switch. It features Dual RAID and Dual Gigabit Ethernet as well.

Do you intend to use any of these features? For that matter, do you intend to use SLI?

The onboard sound is fine for most purposes.

Hi, no mate get the the new Asus board A8N32-SLI DELUXE, even better had all the 3 Asus SLI boards and they just keep getting better!!!!!!!!!

You might be better off saving $25 and try the A8V-MVP

If he's considering a price delta of $50, applying a bit of common sense and we quickly realize that adding a significant amount to that price tag is prolly not the wisest....

Common sence has doing to do with it, JUST do the right thing mate thats what counts!!!!!!!!
