Asus A8n-sli

I'm thinking of buying this board. Anyone got any input on it? Or on the rest of what I hope to build?

I don't play many games, but I don't want crap graphics. I'm not looking for the best, but not the worst. My last pc wouldn't allow me to do much while I was unrar'ing something. I was told that I should be able to -"download a bunch of movies, unrar a couple of movies and (do something else, I forgot what he said) and it should just brush it off like what nothing." Anyone else agree?

Thanks

The Plan:
AMD 64 X2 4400+
ASUS A8N-SLI
2 Gig Cosiar XMS DDR 400
(???) Sata
GeForce 6800

good

Sounds like a good plan you will be able to expand very easily with that mobo. And you will be getting a very very very very nice system along with it. if anything slows down that computer its gotta be big

Thats a fine system, I would love to have that stuff. You'll be able to do lots of things with this one! :D

I would have to agree with iggy101 here. Very nice system. Exact same thing as I was going to get until I heard about AMD's new socket that's coming out in June. That CPU should be the ultimate processor for multi-tasking! You'll be ripping music off a CD, downloading a movie, and checking your system for spyware all at the same time. If you arn't going to be playing games, you might want to go down to a 6600... just depends on what model you are getting of the 6800 class.

Hope you enjoy your rig buddy! :) Happy building

Why, from what I've read, the 939 socket is the socket that's taking over. What is the new socket?

Not to mention so far all of the benchmarks say it only gives you a nominal 5 -10 % increase which has a very bad performace to price ratio.
