Asus Amd 2.4

Hello all
When i try and run my CPU at its max potential, my computer keeps rebooting after a short time.
My CPU should be ablet to run at 2.4GHz but i can only run it at 1.33GHz without it restarting.
I have checked and my mother board ASUS V87X-x can support it and a have a decent graphics card running at 128MB's.
Is there any info anyone could offer?

First of all, video cards aren't measured in MBps.

As for your problem, it sounds like it's because you have Speedstep or a similar function enabled, which downclocks the processor when it is inactive. Download CPU-Z from www.cpuid.com, launch it, and watch the processor speed when you open up a demanding application. If the processor speed does not increase, then you must have a different issue.
