Asus Eee will not start

Have a Asus Eee as mentioned. comes up to the xp screen and loading.
Screen turns black and nothing happens and just blank. I need ideas please.
Don't know where to start. thanks
 
If that fails, test the HDD. Download Hiren's Boot CD and install it to a spare flashdrive using Yumi-Multiboot. Then boot to that and choose Hard disk Tools, then select the HDD manufacturer diagnostic utility from the list.
 
Im back. I will check soon. I suspected it was because someone used like a 'FN' + key.
Tried all those. I will let ya know.
 
So far i booted with 'F8' and waited a minute and nothing. Hit 'F8' again and still at the menu. Another minute later and same result with 'F8' and at the menu. clicked safe mode 'dos prompt' and stuck. Thats strange. This does not have 1hr on it. Couple years old. used for credit cards etc. bills. Never checked email or nothing. Getting mad now.
On the lighter side i will or and have a cd for windows for recovery. My adventure again.
