I need a graphics card ASAP and those are my 2 favorite choices at my local comp shop.

The 8800GT is 209$ and the HD3870 is 195$, not much of a price difference.

But the HD3870 has HDMI, which is not mentioned on the 8800GT, and my screen is also HDMI.

Please no intense fan boy comments with no arguments to back them up, I just want legit pro's and con's. :)
Thanks.

The 8800GT will be ahead by only a few FPS. But if your screen or TV has HDMI go for the 3870, also i believe these 3870's have sound built into the HDMI.

Is asus the only brand for 3870? not that its bad, but those don't have ram heatsinks. Though, if your not overclocking the memory it will be perfectly fine.

Thanks for the reply. :)

Yes, the store only has ASUS 3870's. I was going to order a Diamond Viper one from newegg, but I don't live in the US. I can't seem to find any stores that have it and ship to Canada.

Which one's have ram heatsinks? I'm pretty sure the Diamond Viper had some because I remember someone recommending it to me for that reason.

Thanks.

I'm confused. On the Website they show a picture like this for the ASUS card:

And then on NewEgg, they show this image:

The one on top is the older model. I have 3850 type and with that new fan is runs really cool like around 34 idle 50 max. Hope the 3870 O/C as EZ as mine.

Right, the new ones look like the bottom model. Just get that one, it should do you perfectly fine ;)

I believe archangle here has it.
