Asus GTX 550 TI crashing

I have an Asus GTX 550 TI graphics card. While using it for basic computer tasks like web browsing or youtube, it either gets really slow or sometimes crashes the whole computer. I know it is the graphics card causing this because after I went back to using the crappy card that came with the computer everything works fine. I have tried two different 400w power supplies and I encounter this issue with both. Here are the specs of the computer:

Dell Optiplex 3010
Intel Core I5 3470
4 GB RAM
320 Gb HDD
ATI 7470 (current graphics card with no issues)

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Sounds like something is up with the card itself. Not much you can do with it. Are you using the latest drivers for it? It is an old card though.

Come to think of it I have been using the drivers that were on the included Disc, they may be a bit old. One more thing I thought of: Is 400 watts a big enough power supply?

Thank you
