Hello,
I've recently built a new PC. It has an ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO LGA 1150 Intel motherboard. The cooler I was trying to connect is a Cooler Master Hyper T4.
The problem is that the motherboard had some on-board heatsinks around the CPU. The Cooler Maser uses two brackets on either side of the CPU. The cooler had to hook onto those and then a lever is pressed down to clamp it in place. Hard to explain, but here's a picture of the clamp part: http://imgur.com/UFQPOPB - There's a top-down picture of the motherboard here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131989 that shows the black heatsinks around the CPU.
The problem is that the brackets butt up flush against the black heatsinks on the motherboard, making it impossible to hook over them and clamp the cooler down. Also, the level to clamp it down with would either not fit on either side due to hitting the heatsink on the mobo or hitting the ram.
Has anyone else used an ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO LGA 1150 Intel and got a good cooler to work on it?
Here's a full parts list for my PC: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...ZXWjJTVUFzM0I4NkJYTVdoaFE&usp=drive_web#gid=0
If I had one that mounted like this: http://imgur.com/M50VoFc it would work perfectly. Any suggestions? Is there a special name for these kind of mounts?
I'm currently looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835200034 - it has good reviews and I know that kind of mount will fit in my PC.
Thanks!
