hello to the smart people in my black box. (kinda like a "magic 8-ball", just don't shake it )

I know that the express gate thing is a bit of a gimmick, but it is an interesting one, has anyone here had luck with it. should you shoot for express gate with SSD ? I have tried to search ASUS and can not find a way to search for all boards with express gate. so far there seems to be 2 .

would love to hear some user opinions on this. on the boards and usefulness of the gimmick so to speak.

I think it's more of a marketing gimmick.

I leave my computers on 24/7, so it wouldn't do much to help me, but I really don't see that much urgency in shaving off 10 seconds to check a potential email.

I personally have an ASUS P5Q Pro, and Express gate while nice, it's rather pointless TBH. That's not the reason I bought this board though.. Booting and getting online in 5 seconds is nice, but waiting 15-20 for a fully operation installation of XP is better. Who needs access to internet in 5 seconds anyway?

can you tell me, does your board have the ssd ? did you enable or use express gate ? I am compiling a list of parts to purchase, I have played with computers a lot but never built one from scratch and am looking for as much input as i can get. have seen reveiws that the express gate boards were quirky . I am not an overclocker but would like to know as much as possible going inot all this so that it is an option if i wanted to .
