Hey guys. havent stopped in on the forums in a while. good to be back =]

here is the situation:

Im looking at getting a monitor that does at least 1080p with HDMI and DVI in.

my goal is to have my computer AND xbox 360 plugged in to the same monitor.

i have found the ASUS VH226H (new egg link)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236051

I think its really perfect for the price.

now here is the delima:

HDMI, as far as i know, caries HD video and audio in one cable. so convient, right? the monitor does have 2 2W speakers(how generous) but i dont want to use them, i have a logitech 5.1 setup, that i would like to use for both pc and 360 sound(not at the same time though) but the monitor doesnt have an audio out port, at least i doubt the two audio ports on it are.(for the sake out the question, were assuming they arnt...but if you can, feel free to prove they are, or at least one is)

so..finally, the question:

What do i need, to have video from the 360 to the asus through HDMI, and Audio from my 360 to my logitechs
(and yes i am willing to unplug the audio connections on my pc every time i wanna play 360, thats fine.)

thanks for all the help guys, and girls

would this help?

Yea i saw those. but i would say no Because its:

Not HDMI, VGA cant carry true 32 bit color, nor can it carry more than a 30 hertz refresh rate.

& if i used an RCA to 3.5MM adapter, all three plugs would need to be female.....hmmm...

on a 360, do you think both ports (one being the propriety port with the component/composite , other being HDMI) are always receiving signals, even if one is being used?

cause if both ports are always "live", then i could just have HDMI doing video and audio (but just turn down the monitor's speakers) then plug in the normal, Component/composite cable and use the composite audio plugged into an RCA->3.5mm female adapter. which i could just get a female RCA to male 3.5mm then get/make an adapter that is female->female 3.5mm

confusing much? yes, but i think that might work?
