asus p5ld2 and intel 940

I want to upgrade my intel 640 with intel 940 on this mobo but... seems not working
any idea why ?

can't boot, it happens nothing! black screen
when I put back my old 640, it works fine

Are there any bent pins? Any beeps? Does anything power on?


How did you get this processor? Because I would say that it is dead.

*edit* forgot socket T processors don't have pins.

well , I bought this proc from the store, in first place I sayd also that it's dead and I sent it back, but they says it works fine and here I am again with the same problem
No beeps,the pin's are ok on the [proc, the sistem power up, hard-disks are runing on, optical drive it's working but nothing happened further, the screen remain black
I'm confuse..don't know wtf is the problem

Check your BIOS revision. You may need to update it.

Definatly check your bois version i had the same problem years back but not with a intel

The board appears to support Core2, so that processor SHOULD work. As other's said, it's probably a bios problem. There appears to be an update that came out just a few days ago for that board. It's probably mostly for Core2, but obviously should also include your current processor
