ASUS P5N-E Q6600 Overclocking problem!

Problem is............cant overclock!

Whenever i O/C either through manual or through AI auto overclock, it boots the system fine, but then i chek CPU-Z and it says im running at 2.4 Ghz.....


Why cant i overclock?

Help!?
 
I dont know to much about overclocking, Anyone who has any articles about it would help both me and Jak. But what voltage do you have your cpu set to when you overclock???
 
1.35v i think....the uto overclock should sort all that stuff out though, it sucks because i spent quite a bit of money upgrading to a nicer mobo and cpu (the P5N-E and q6600) so that i could get a decent overclock ,i was hoping for around 3.0-3.4 Ghz minimum.

I believe that is called vdroop. Google it to find out more about it.

Mine will do the same thing. Even though I am clocked at 3.4ghz, sometimes when I am stressing it, it will go down to 2.4ghz.
