Asus P5N-E SLI

yeah, it should work
from tigerdirect:
The P5N-E SLI motherboard is based on the NVIDIA nForce 650 i SLI Northbridge chipset. It supports Intel Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Duo, Pentium D, Pentium 4 LG!775 and Celeron D (compatible with (05A, 05B, & 06) Processors, with 533/800/1066/1333MHz (available when CPUs are ready for 1333MHz FSB) Front Side Bus support.

Newegg lists the model as supporting quad core models as well as "Pentium" as seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131142 This probably covers P4 Socket 775 models as well.

But I like getting direct information from the specifications listed at the manufacturer's own product page that shows,
CPU
LGA775 Socket Intel® Quad-Core/CoreTM Extreme/Pentium D /Pentium 4/Celeron CPU processors
Compatible with Intel® 06/05A/05B processors
Intel® EIST/EM64T/Hyper-Threading Technology/C1E/ TM1/TM2

http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1474&l1=3&l2=11&l3=473&l4=0

The specifications even list support for Celerons for that model as well as the newer Core 2 Extreme. It covers a large range of cpu options for you there.
