so ive been looking to build a new pc in 5 months, for gaming ofc. but then i saw the most awesomest laptop series ever, the ASUS Powerhouse series.

ive looked and i absolutely LOVE them! nice specs, nice design in my opinion and everything really.

now the problem is, i cant afford both when i turn 18 in may. but i want both, the laptop for LAN parties so i dont have to carry my PC around and the PC for when im gaming at home. the laptop will then also be used at college but with a different HDD ofcourse.

but my Q is, anyone have expierence with any of the Powerhouses? so from the G51 to G70 series?

thanks in advance

I would go with the desktop, there are some nice build ideas in some gaming PC Mag's that are portable. The issue with a gaming laptop is two things, 1 hardware becomes out dated very fast and 2 is cooling which holds hands with reliability.

If you want true gaming performance stick with desktop and consoles cause laptop's primary purpose is simple, portability.

actually shuttle released a case recently with a 500W power supply that should handle most mid ranged gpus along with a quadcore cpu...that would be quite nice in a small package

hmm well im going for a desktop anyway, but i am going to save up to get a powerhouse for LAN parties for COD4 and WoW
