hello, i wasnt sure where to post this

I have an Asus Striker II extreme motherboard, i built my computer about 4 months ago and i love it. Ill get my specs later here is my problem. oh and i am also running windows vista 32 bit.

When i first booted up i installed most of the Asus software. Along with that comes this "ASUS ACPI CENTER" and sometimes it pops up on my taskbar as "not responding" then i look at my tasks, in task manager and it is using 50+% of the CPU. So i would have to restart and hope it wouldnt start up again.
What is this
"aaCenter.exe"
and why is it using soo much CPU?

I just disabled it from starting up when i boot up using task scheduler. \so i think that fixed the problem but i would like to know what it does and how it affects my computer when its off.

thanks guys

ID say uninstall it. Its not needed as you can download coretemp or HWmonitor that does same thing with less resources.

aaCenter.exe is a program you instaleld off the cd for the mobo to monitor the temps and voltages.

ok thanks :D my ambient temps are cool and im buying a new HEATSINK so ill keep it to see how my new heatsink works then ill uninstall it when i see my cpu temp stay low
THANKS :D

Go to the ASUS support site and download PC Probe II for your MB. It does not run at bootup so just run it for monitoring as needed then shut it down. As you can see gives you everything you need to know about your ASUS MB, temps, voltages, and fans. Indispensible when you start overclocking.
