Hey guys, I've been looking for a sub $200 card that will be able to play most games on 1080p at above 40 fps. Not games such as crysis but all games in the Call of Duty series as well as Battlefield 2 I'm also hoping to get around 100+ on all source engine games. This card is $179 after rebates and seems to suit me needs from what I've seen from gameplay videos. This may seem like a very amateur question and I think I know the answer but are you guys 100% sure this card is compatible with my MoBo?(I'm just very very cautious when spending anything over 100 dollars) If you want you can make a suggestion but it must be under 200 dollars and be compatible with the MoBo I linked to.

Graphics Card: ASUS EAH6870 DC/2DI2S/1GD5 Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready

MoBo: ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe LGA 1155 Intel Z68 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Thanks guys!

I appreciate all replies!

Thanks for the reply, and my power supply is a "CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650" (650 watts). Also, are you confident I will be able to run the games I mentioned in my original post at the fps I said?

always better to have one superior.PSU is plenty....And yes it will work with that Mobo.

edit: it can play BattleField: Bad Company 2 - around 60fps @ high quality/8xAA/16XAF res:1680x1050

lmao, yeah I know. @ 1080p with the same setting with battlefield:bad company 2 @ 48.2fps on Avg. and 44fps Min.

^thats with my PC. If your PC is the one in sig than you have nothing to worry about, you'll be hovering around 60fps with that rig allday.

Ah ok great! Thank you a ton, I was very worried about getting this card. Haven't purchased a graphics card or really any computer parts in years and wasn't sure if this one was worth it. You have reassured me completely, thank you! Well, if you have the money you should consider upgrading. My entire rig everything down to the 24 inch 1080p screen, keyboard and mouse EVERYTHING after shipping costed 1300 bucks. Oh, by the way I was looking around at other graphics card brands (of the same chipset/make the 6870) and found a Sapphire 6870 for around 11 bucks less after shipping and rebates. Should I go with that? Or what? I mean the only real difference is pretty much the fan right?

some people have preferences about which brand to go with. to be honest, there's no difference. The fan on the Sapphire will do fine
