I have tried to set the memory to the advertised speed and nothing seems to be working. It always ends with the computer crashing at boot up. I have tried all the simple preset settings and still can not get the memory to go above its default speed. I bumped up the voltage to 1.4 and it will run fine all day but then crash the next day at start up. Any thoughts besides buy new parts?

Have you enabled XMP setting bios? It's possible that frequency is just too high. I believe that @Intel_man said something that AMD was more finicky about ram than Intel.

It can be with the older Ryzen cpu's. The IMC wasn't as robust and often struggled with timings.

Which G Skill kit is this (part #) and which Asus X670e mobo (part #)?

This is pretty true, AGESA improvements and Zen2 onward finally supported things like samsung bdie @ 3200 14-14-14-34

I haven't seen too many people struggle with 6k on am5 although the ceiling seems to be shortly beyond there like 6400.

tried all the simple preset settings
Does that specifically include enabling XMP/DOCP?

Neither have I. I don't recall seeing mass complaints about AM5 and DDR5 in general. Although the occasional non QVL part could throw a tantrum in very specific combos.
