I got a new Asus motherboard and I installed it and when I boot my computer the ASUS logo pops up and about 5 seconds later the computer just shuts down, I tried pressing delete to go to setup and it directed me then shut off. The only thing wrong at the moment is my heatsink is not hooked up to my processer
but that wouldnt be it

I'd first check where your CPU fan is connected. Some motherboards freak out if they don't detect the fan on the CPU-FAN header. If that's correct, try tearing it back apart(assuming you just built it) and rebuild it. It could be a short. Are you using a new power supply? If you have another power supply, try that too.

Its over heating thats why it keeps turning off. Install a heatsink on the CPU. If you keep trying to turn on the Mobo w/o the heatsink is going to damage cpu or mobo or both.
