at 3.0 want to go higher

woudl my ram be a limiting factor in how far i can OC my cpu?
righ tnow i have factory timings on 3 gigs of 667 underclocked to 400
and when i run orthos and try stressing cpu and ram it locks up
but without the ram it does fine ..until my bedroom gets too hot and air cooling fails lol

but would better ram actually make my overclock more stable ? and be able to go further ?

if so anybody got a good suggestion on 1066 that i can underclock to 800 or jsut 800 mhz ram thats real cheap i want about 4 gigs 2x2 ive been lookign at newegg but cant find anythign special

i have the 2gb set, it goes from 800@ 3-4-4-12 to 1100mhz @ 6-6-6-15. great overclocking ram.

No...personally I don't overclock my ram...the performance boost is not noticed...maybe you will do something 1 second faster.

I set my ram OC on my gigabyte board so I ALWAYS come out @ DDR2 800 so I went 400x8 = 3.2ghz which = 800mhz for ram.

I did however tighten it to 4-4-4-12 because I could and it didn't need a voltage increase or anything.
