My panny e80 dvd burner died. It had an 80 gig 5400 (gotta keep the heat down because of the severe encasing in there) maxtor diamondmax 16 ata 133.
Finding the same drive at a trusted place online is difficult and I may just get another drive because I'm tired of looking. I found a 5400 ata 100 drive from seagate .
What functions of the dvd hard drive unit would take a speed hit if i got ata 100 vs ata 133 hard drive (133 is in the unit now of course) ? Would the dvd still take the same amount of minutes to burn from the hard drive? how about editing? I dont care about menu speed per se, but i do a lot of editing. Or is the diff between ata 100 and 133 meaningless in this instance?

edit, found this on wiki but have no clue if it's significant with regards to the streaming feature set etc?
