ata 100 vs ata 133? big difference?

My panny e80 dvd burner died. It had an 80 gig 5400 (gotta keep the heat down because of the severe encasing in there) maxtor diamondmax 16 ata 133.

Finding the same drive at a trusted place online is difficult and I may just get another drive because I'm tired of looking. I found a 5400 ata 100 drive from seagate .

What functions of the dvd hard drive unit would take a speed hit if i got ata 100 vs ata 133 hard drive (133 is in the unit now of course) ? Would the dvd still take the same amount of minutes to burn from the hard drive? how about editing? I dont care about menu speed per se, but i do a lot of editing. Or is the diff between ata 100 and 133 meaningless in this instance?

edit, found this on wiki but have no clue if it's significant with regards to the streaming feature set etc?

It's a bit confusing what your asking. A DVD Burner/ROM can't read or write at 133Mb/s, so you wont notice a difference there. If you want to see a speed increase, you should move to a 7200RPM drive.

sorry should have said standalone dvd burner with hard drive

Would like to keep 5400 because the encasing appears to keep the drive very warm to begin with. Dont need to add more heat.

You will notice no difference between an ATA133 and ATA100 5400 RPM drive, but you will notice a difference between a 5400 and a 7200 RPM drive.
