Athlon 64 3000+ @ 2.7 Ghz Stock Cooling

Just wanted to say that i managed to OC my CPU from 1.8 GHz to 2.7 GHz, it was pretty easy though, just lowered the HT multiplier to 3X, increased HTT to 300 MHz and presto, 9*300=2.7, here are a few screenshots, oh yeah, and i played with memory divider, its rated as 4250+ :eek:

Nice, could you give me some pointers to overclock a Venice so smoothly. I have an ideal how to overclock and all, but I never done it.
 
SuperPi is a stability program that calculates Pi to up to 32 thousand (32M) digits. As you overclock, your times generally get lower, that is if it is stable and doesn't produce errors (meaning unstability).

EDIT: 32 million digits. Stupid math mistake. (mega=million:))

ok, ill try that now, how long does it take to complete?

lol :) , ill just say exactly what i did in BIOS,
  • reduced HT multiplier from 5X to 3X
  • increased HT clock from 200 MHz to 300MHz
  • reduced RAM speed from 400 Mhz to 266 MHz
  • multiplier stayed at 9X
  • i first increased Vcore to 1.5V then i reduced it to 1.4V to see if its stable (IT IS!!! :D )
do u need anything else, just ask

Hey thanks, I'll do a bit more research and I'll notify if I have questions. ;)
 
Don't raise the core clock all at once though. 5-10 mhz increments, less as you get higher. See if it boots after each raise, test for stability. If it's not stable raise the vCore a tiny bit. If you haven't, read OC101 too.
