how did you manage 2.7GHZ holy cow!!!

rofl, i dont know, i was so suprised when it successfully booted

EDIT: it wont be a permanent OC, it was just a test to see if my CPU can handle it, after i get better cooling ill set it to 2.7 GHz

what happens when you try to go higher?
errrr.... i didnt try higher :D

should I?

ok, ill try with 2.8 GHz

EDIT: lol, it boots, omg, im so lucky to have such a good overclocking cpu, i still have the thermal pad on my stock cooler, i was thinking to put Artic silver 5

RATED AS 4400+ ROFL

WTH????? This is absolutely insane! I gotta try this if I ever get this CPU...and your exact same specs.

That is a great speed. Have you tested for stability at 2.8 yet? Try playing some games and see how it does.

nah, i said it wont be permanent, although i played FEAR for about 1 hour on 2.7 GHz and it ran fine, i also did the 3dmark, im running it now at 2.0 GHz, after i get better cooling ill set it to 2.8, its not that its running hot... i just wanna be sure that nothing happens

I dont think it would be a good idea to run your CPU at such a high frequency even if you do find a better way of cooling your CPU b/c in the long run your going to damage your CPU not from heat but from too much voltage.

hmm... i'd like to see how long that lasts... i see you had to raise voltage to 1.552V thats gonna generate ALOT of heat... lol
temps @ 2.8ghz please :)
2.8ghz is a very nice o/c :)

Does it make a difference in your overclock since you have an IDE hard drive?
As i said before, it only does if your mobo doesnt have SATA Locks, but yours does. Besides, he has a SATA drive and look at his oc, lol

Ok, but he doesn't have SATA, he has IDE, it's in his sig.

as u can see on the first screenshot, i was running my CPU at 2.7 GHz on 1.4V, so i just wanted to see if it works on 2.8 GHz so i increased the voltage, i didnt try with 1.4V yet

im running it now at 2.0 GHz on 1.3V

Heya

I also got 2.7Ghz on my Venice 3000+ but it was prime stable and superPI stable at 1.65V. It booted up at 1.45, but under no circumstance would I consider it stable. It would play games fine, but would not pass prime95. Now I solved that by increasing the Vcore to 1.65 :-). I have had it @ 2.7 for a month but now that I got one more gig of RAM, I was forced to downclock my CPU to 2.6Ghz. More on my OC : http://www.computerforum.com/showthread.php?t=33728

To FILIP : Did you test SUPERPI 24M and Prime95?

Would you guys think a 3200+ would overclock like this? If so I would be saving a lot of money from buying a 3500+!

its the exact same core (venice of course) only the multiplier is 10X, mine is 9X, so i would say yes, it would be much easier to OC with it

im considering to sell this one and buy myself a 3200+

Man

Hey Filip could you tell me if it's stable in terms of Prime95 and so on? I mean it's a great OC, but I could only get to 2.7Ghz PRIME95 STABLE by raising the Vcore to 1.65 (I do have a revision E3 Venice however as opposed to your E6). I could get it to boot at 1.45 @ 2.7Ghz as well and worked for everything, yet would fail stress tests. If you pass indeed, then major congrats.
