Athlon Memory Frequency Question

im a sort of noob u culd say, i built my comp but anyway i come to ask u, i have a athlon 2400xp and i checked my BIOS it says the memory frequency is at 133mhz, i check the website it says (266 MHz FSB). Is mine wrong or am i talkin bout 2 different things. I tried to set it higher then 133mhz and it gives me error like CPU Fan Overspin or sumthing

That's correct. You're using DDR (Double Data Rate) RAM, so the effective speed is doubled.

exactly. ddr= double data rate... or dual data rate. whatever u wanna call it it send information at the beginning and end of a cycle and effectively doubles the performance per mhz

i dont think i have dd ram, cause mine is set at 133mhz and not 266 or w/e

you probably have the standard pc133 ram. you might be able to use ddr ram. goto crucial.com and put your mobo in the reference box.
