athlon x4

Great cpu for the cost, if you get lucky it will not have the true propus core meaning you can unlock the L3 cache, and they seem to overclock somewhat well. For the price id have to say its a pretty good value.

what the topic is about the athlon x4 how far behind in games will it be compared to the i5 or its bigger bro the phenom 2 x4

That card is great.

What are you after exactly? Upgrading your current processor?

It won't fit in your current motherboard in your sig.

With the HD4850 and athlon II x4 or better yet the phenom II x3 720 you should be able to run just about any game at medium to very high quality settings depending on the monitor resolution you play your games at. however like Bodaggit23 said, your motherboard does not support the athlon II x4 or the phenom II.

Your best bet for a cpu would be a high end athlon x2 like the 5400+ or 6000+ which pales in comparison to the phenom II.

the athlon 6000+ is a good cpu but will have it limits in todays gaming, im not sure if it would be a bottle neck to a 4850 gpu....

i had my 6000+ with a 7950gt and it was good but not the best

yeah i know i need to get a new mobo tahst obvious lads thanks for that but basically i dont know to get this the pII or the i5 or i7 either the lga 1156 or 1366 too many quad cores out there now, i want it to play games really

basically the only difference is with the lga1156 or 1366 is the max ram it can support, triple ddr3 ram and multiple gpus yeah?

Depends what your budget is. What are you willing to spend? Phenom II processors are less expensive. If you were going to look at the Phenom II I would look at the Phenom II 550 or the Phenom II 720.

Intel i5 750 Processor is also a really choice if you want to build a gaming system. With a decent video card the i5 750 Processor can handle any video game out there.

Edit: What I meant to say in the above post is:

Intel i5 750 Processor is also a really good choice if you want to build a gaming system.
