can somebody help me with my computer.. im really pissed off because of this right now, i have a athlon xp 3000+ and its running @ 1052mhz. that is 1.1ghz and the processor is capable of 2.0ghz. please help. i have searched through the bios and there isnt a SINGLE thing about the cpu speed.......help

Might have to do a BIOS update on the Motherboard to get the OC option. And it might not be just a "multiplier" you might just have to change the frequency of the CPU.

Well, it does really help if you could give us the Specs of your computer! We can't give you maximum help without knowing what motherboard you're using, RAM, etc..

I had this problem too, my motherboard wasn't registering my AMD Athlon XP 2400+ at it's full speed, and thought that it was a 1800+. This is a known problem with my motherboard (ASUS A7N8X-X)...

So, give us the specs, and we can help you a great deal more....:)

1. Either you havent searched the BIOS enough and/or missed it
2. Potentially just CPU throttling
3. FSB is set to the failsafe of 100MHz

read your motherboard book it should tell you where you can set a jumper for the computers FSB speed.
