ati 9800 tv hang

I recently replaced my mobo because it died. It is a asus p4p800e-deluxe. While doing so i also got a new power supply, ultra x-connect 500W. When i fized my comp i also uploaded all the new drivers and software. I have an ati AIW 9800 pro. I have Win XP SP2. I used to be able to watch tv with no problems. Now my tv hangs after anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. The sound dies and the player is no longer functional, although the video can still be seen. If i disable hyperthreading in my bios it works fine. But built my computer wanting HT enabled. So is there anyway to get this to work.

I think Hyper Threading is the culprit. I had the exact specs as you at on time (diff motherboard and cpu now) and the only way I fixed it was disabling hyper threading as well.

My solution was to stop watching cable TV (it's crap anyways). Now I just watch tv off the internet.

(I know this doesn't provide a solution, however, just thought I'd say your not alone, and this has plagued me for 2 years...lol. Stability seems to change with each new cataylst/MMC ATI comes out with)
