ATI Advice

Ok so I have one of the x850xt PE ATI cards made by saphire...not to long ago I changed the Heatsink and fan for my chip set, after doing this my card started to over heat and I am looking at diff routes...I noticed that the x1300 and X1600 of the series where real cheap compared to the 850s I was wondering if those would be upgrades from the 850 or if i would be better off paying the 89 bucks for the servicing at micro center. Thanks for your time!

For gaming it already clocks at 575mhz over the 450mhz seen on the X1300 with that only a slight edge on the model you have. The cost factor is a few hundred more for the replacement card. You may want to wait for the X1900series cards to drop a little in price while repairing the one you have. That could be set aside for use as a backup later. Those only clock at 650mhz stock. http://www.ati.com/products/RadeonX1900/specs.html
