ATI HD2000 series cards

=/ you two are ati fanboys, seriously...They're both video cards, but the 8 series is faster, period. Etsa's simply frustrated because he paid too much for a card with lower benchmarks than the 8800s...and all cards can encode videos kof >_>.

EDIT: VIDEO CARD BATTLE GO! taylor, monoxide, alpine, and chupacabra are on my team =3.

The 2900XT is better then the 8800GTS, but with the improved drivers and DX10 games coming up, the 8800GTX will even be worse then the 2900XT.

I beg to differ, 8800GTX will more than likely beat the 2900XT out in OC'ing, too.

oh great another thread about Nvidia vs Ati :(. And now I'm more confuse on what to do with my RMA'd sapphire 2900xt. Should I exchange for a brand new 2900xt or should I add a 100 bucks and get the 8800 ultra from evga that is on NCIX weekly special right now? any one?

Ooh, if you can just add the extra $100 to step-up to a 8800 ultra then do it. You are an extremely lucky person, sir, to have such a deal presented to you. :D

Lol at the rest of you. If ATI cards have better default colors as Kof2000 suggested then fine. But some of you guys need to keep a more open mind.. I will buy the most powerful card i can afford, regardless of whether they are ATI or Nvidia. I do not want to become an unpaid employee to either company. :)

The 2900XT excels in shader heavy games, which is why some games perform better on the 2900XT then the 8800GTX. But your right in saying that the 8800 overclocks better then the 2900XT.

Gee? If I was going out to buy a card running for $400- I would want one where I wouldn't even need to worry about ocing. But I guess the Asus HD 2600Pro 256mb card will have to do for now.

Now on the video card, I try to squeeze every little drop out of it without really pushing it. I have the X1300PRO now, it sucks, this thing will OC 40Mhz and start artifacting:rolleyes:

I could run Crysis or Oblivion here with the MSI version of the X1300Pro while in the process of selecting items for the new build in progress. It would run without being the oc ticket seen on other cards. The choice of this card of course was for the budget and not performance side when boiught. The new build will see that corrected for other then gaming reasons there.
