ATI Radeon 5990?

If you look at the 5970 there is a a bit of unused space, and apparently (rumors) its because AMD are planning a 5990.

im just looking for opinions but do you think its true and there will be a 5990?
And how do you think it will perform?

There would definately be room for ati to bring out a 5890 or 5990, but i really don't see a 5990 coming to market. However, i do forsee a 5890, perhaps a few months before the 6 series ati cards come out, but more than likely will be like the 4890, which was basically a reworked core to allow for lower heat and better clocks.

^ same as the 4860. They've also redone the 5670 so that it has 680 shaders rather than 400, so it's quite a bit faster now i'd imagine... they changed the core to the same as the 57xx cards too, so techincally it's a 5730.
